I see Bill Gates blog mentions the statistic that financial services of any kind have been available to only 10 percent of the 2.5 billion people who live on less than $2 per day. And just as the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation is looking to empower people through trade rather than aid, I was struck by the recent article by Eric Schmidt on Google's focus for the coming period. So with the second point in mind, (Google and Money transactions) have a look at this award winning start-up who are using mobile technology to make secure payments at retail outlets in developing countries.
