Mauritania is leading the way in crisis management in the region. NATO is co-funding a project to develop civil protection structures which could serve as a pilot for other G5 countries in Africa.
This €1.2-million project is led by France and co-funded equally by NATO and the Canadian government under the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
