Speaking at a Pecha Kucha event held at the 2009 Design Indaba Expo, established South African furniture designer Haldane Martin discusses his work and his inspirations.
His latest piece, the Polyhedra Coffee table, is about unifying nature and technology to create a sense of belonging. Much of Martin's work is inspired by "poetic structures" in nature in this way, such as the geometry of bee hives and organic growth patterns like algae.
