More than 100 cars had their windows broken over this past weekend in Chula Vista and a suspect or suspects are still on the loose. Chula Vista Police think a pellet gun was used and at least one man shot. The suspect vehicle is described as an older model green G-M-C van. San Diego City Council Budget Committee is meeting this morning at 9:00 about a report from the city's Department of Information Technology and the agreement the city has with Sprint for wireless service.
El Cajon has a 1 point 4 million dollar grant to spend on community development and wants its residents to chime in on how to spend the money. They are meeting tonight at 6:00 at Renette Park Community Center.
San Diego State University is hosting a symposium about stem cell research and how it is advancing science starting at 5:30 tonight in the Donald P Shiley BioScience Center on campus.
Questions about the Syrian conflict will be answered by 5 University of California San Diego professors tonight at 5:00 at UCSD's Robinson Auditorium.
And finally … tonight at 7:00 is the start of the 12th annual San Diego Film Festival. The first film is "12 Years as a Slave" after which there is a party at the Gaslamp Reading Theater.
